A place to relax.
YJ Massage has a simple mission. We aim to provide our customers with a place where they can relax and relieve stress accumulated from everyday life. Initially started off as just a simple idea, YJ Massage has since committed itself to provide the best massage therapy service at an affordable price to its customers.
We are humbled to be able to share our story on how we came to be. YJ Massage is situated in the Bridlewood community of Calgary. Our business is operated as a family business and as a result, our office is in the basement portion of our home. We have committed ourselves to create a space in our home that is welcoming, relaxing, and safe. At the same time, we strive to keep our prices competitive and our services top notch and easily accessible.
It all started after the mother of the household became a single mom with two children to look after. The older one is going through university and helps out when he can, but the younger one is still very young. The mother, a RMT did not have a very stable job, but nevertheless had to provide for the household.
While she was working at massage clinics across Calgary, she noticed something about the industry. As it turns out, the massage therapy industry is becoming competitive, and at the same time there is an economic downturn in Calgary as oil prices dropped. As a result, incumbents are competing with each other only through lowering their prices just to stay afloat.
As the mother brought up these trends in her industry as small chat on the dinner table, the son took it to heart. Having a competitive price is certainty important, but perhaps there are some other factors to think about. Quality of service, accessibility, and other factors can all become powerful tools to provide value to the customers.
YJ Massage was born as a result of this chat between a mother and her son. We believe in a business that always evolves and therefore we will try to be innovative with new ways to create value. We hope that this experience will be a positive one for us and many others.

Susan graduated as a RMT from Makami College. Since then, she has accumulated years of experience working in many clinics across Calgary. During her journey, she has learned many tips and techniques to hone her skills by combining both western and eastern massage styles.
Peter Chen
Manager
Peter graduated from the Haskayne school of business in University of Calgary. His major was business technology management. As a result, he has a strong passion for both business and technology and hopes to work on projects that combines these two.
